Green Choice is a partnership between Choice Australia and the Council whereby Federal government funding of $2 million is creating jobs - 63 of them - for unemployed people.

The teams of workers will learn skills and gain experience in landcare, conservation, weed eradication, vegetation rehabilitation, building, maintenance and horticulture. Projects will occur in in the north at Whyanbeel Creek where workers will be involved in seed collecting, tree planting, nursery operations and week control and in the south at Weinart Creek at Gordonvale.

Other Green Choice projects over the next 12 months include creating the new entrance to the Red Arrow behind the tanks and doing more work at that hidden little treasure at Dunne Road, Yorkeys: the Cattana Wetlands.
