Val Schier - International Women's Day

In this year of the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day we want people to think about women who can be nominated for the Woman of the Year or Young Woman of the Year award at the annual breakfast to be held on Saturday 5th March. Nominations forms are at libraries, Council offices and on the website. http://www.cairns.qld.gov.au/about-the-council/media-and-public-notices/international-womens-day. There will be a program of free and ticketed events to celebrate women and the contribution to our society.

Also, as part of the 2011 celebrations, Cairns Regional Council would like to share stories of women who are making a difference in the community.
