As you may know, my Council has moved to amend the Cairns Plan to "back-zone" 26 hill slopes properties into conservation. This means that only one dwelling would be permitted to be built on them thereby protecting our green face of Cairns.

The proposal will be open for public consultation and comment until 8 April 2011 so please have your say at Council's Customer Service Centres or online .

All landowners who are affected by the proposal have been sent a letter outlining the proposed changes to the planning scheme for their particular blocks of land.
