National 'Ride to Work Day' – 12 October 2012
Monday, 17 October 2011 09:16

Congratulations to the Trinity Beach school students and their teachers who rode from Trinity Beach into the Esplanade for breakfast then back to school on 12th October. I hopped on my bicycle to ride in from Machan's, joining the hundreds of others who made the trip to work by bike that day and also picked up their new pocket sized cycling and pedestrian path booklets.

We received lots of positive comments from people in regards to the new cycle-way and links between new and existing pathways, but real concerns have been expressed by those living to the south of Cairns who cannot ride safely into Cairns. That has to be our next priority.

Cyclists know that by riding to work they are helping to stop congestion on our roads, staying fit and healthy and also saving all that petrol money.
