This Sunday five homes in the Cairns region will open their doors for Sustainable House Day. The five houses - both newly built and renovated - will showcase a variety of sustainable features including an innovative suburban aquaponics display.

The event is being coordinated this year by the Tropical Green Building Network and the Cairns and Far North Environment Centre. Addresses are:

1. 2 Joan Crescent, MAREEBA

2. 4263 Black Mountain Road, JULATTEN

3. 40A Portsea Crescent, KEWARRA

4. 7 Solager Street, MANOORA

5. 35 Sperring Street, MANUNDA

Houses will be open to the public between 10am to 4pm, and entry is free.
