About Women: SBS 8.30pm Wednesday 30 September

Many of you will be aware that I was filmed for 5 days in early 2008 whilst I was campaigning to become mayor of the Cairns Region. This was part of a series of 3 programs - About Women - made by Iris Pictures and sold to the SBS. The footage has been edited considerably and the segment in which I appear will be on this Wednesday 30th September at 8.30pm. The series "investigates modern Australian women in the many ages and stages of life - what she needs to thrive and survive in the 21st Century and the obstacles she faces on her life's journey. These stories make for an absorbing and intimate snapshot of what it means to be female in Australia today." It's an interesting reminder of just how hard I worked with my supporters and fellow candidates to change local government in the Cairns region 18 months ago.
