Meet the Mayor

Together with divisional councillors, I have embarked on a series of meetings with community members in each of the 10 divisions throughout the region. We started in Babinda, had an excellent turnout at Gordonvale, then Edmonton and Cairns this week. Where possible we are holding the meetings in Council facilities such as the libraries. We have a cup of tea together and then people get the opportunity to have one-on-one meetings where they can raise issues, be heard and be assured of feedback and follow-up. More meetings are proposed for: • Mossman 12.30 - 1.30pm Friday 27 November, Mossman Council office • Port Douglas 3 - 4pm Friday 27 November, Port Douglas Community Hall • Stratford 2 - 3pm Tuesday 1 December, Stratford Library • Woree 2 - 3pm Wednesday 2 December, Woree Community Centre, Toogood Rd • Brinsmead 2 - 3pm Thursday 3 December, Bella Vista Community Hall, Lot 14 Loridan Drive • Kewarra Beach 2 - 3pm Friday 4 December , Community Hall, Poolwood Rd • Earlville 2 - 3pm Tuesday 8 December, Earlville Library, Stockland Shopping Centre • Cairns 2 - 3pm Wednesday 11 December, Council office, Spence St My apologies to anyone who attended the Smithfield library on Monday, 23 November. Unfortunately, I had an unexpected visit to Canberra to meet with federal Ministers and was not able to let people know in advance. I thank the Deputy Mayor, Margaret Cochrane for stepping in for me and am happy to catch up another time with anyone who wishes to see me personally.
